The Napco Firewolf is one of my favorite options for Commercial fire, AND commercial Security. Let me explain.
The Firewolf is a UL Listed 24 VDC Addressable Fire Alarm System. When purchased in a kit (CLICK HERE), the system comes WITH a remote annunciator. It’s addressable circuits are designed to be used with Hochiki detectors (provided by Napco) AND it has a massive 6AMPS of onboard 24VDC NAC power. It supports sync protocols for the 4 big brands (2 of which are Arm Yourself brands: Cooper Wheelock, and Gentex). Oh, and did we mention it’s UL Listed Wireless detection capabilities?
It’ comes in a very robust cabnet with PLENTY of battery storage. Electronics are mounted to sturdy rails, and the system can be programmed (2 way) over the proper cellular communicator).
This thing is sweet.
Now, if you need a dual purpose system, add the GEMC burg module to the system to get INDEPENDENTLY powered burg. Not only is it a burg system, it’s capable of wireless burg, and ADDRESSABLE burg, and of course, conventional burg. Add automation to this with a simple module (or the right communicator), and you get zwave integration.
You may be thinking: this system can’t possibly be a high quality system. It is! It’s been around and used in the field for a very long time.
The cherry on top is the ability to 2-way program these systems with Napco’s Starlink communicators. We’ll be doing a future episode on those, but suffice-it-to-say, the offering is very powerful.
