When I hear the acronym “IP,” it’s easy for my mind to drift to the famous computer nerds of Silicon Valley from the 70’s. It’s a technology that can seem intimidating, scary, complex… well… all of the above. Sure, there are pieces of the tech that make it complex, but we don’t have to be experts in IP to understand how to install and manage an IP based Surveillance System.

SimpliSafe, Ring, and all of the DIY systems are severely lacking [to say the least] when it comes to REAL and complete solutions for security, automation, and surveillance. Sure, they integrate relatively seamlessly with the ever growing Amazon-supporting brands, but they fall short in so many ways. That said, the offering can actually do damage to an industry with over a century in history and development.
